Now that the dust has settled on the 2021/22 JD Cymru Premier campaign, the Football Association of Wales has announced their nominees for manager and player of the season.
Not surprisingly, Anthony Limbrick’s name has been forwarded in the former category.
Winning the league in style in his first full-term in charge, The New Saints went on to amass 80 points, establishing a 21-point gap in the process over second-placed Bala Town.
Colin Caton (Bala Town) and Chris Hughes (Newtown AFC) are the other two nominated managers.
Along with Caernarfon Town’s Dion Donohue, we have two names that have been included in the players’ shortlist.
It’s great to see that Ryan Brobbel’s goals, assists and overall contribution is recognised. Since signing for The New Saints, his consistent performances have been a big part of the club’s ongoing success.
One of the batch of 2021/22 incomings, Declan McManus’ goals have played a huge part in what we have achieved over the last eleven months.
He scored in our opening league game, on the road at Newtown AFC, and he found the net on MD32 at home to Caernarfon Town.
He also won the league’s (and the club’s) golden boot award.
