LATEST NEWS

You can read our next match day programme in full, once it’s published on the website. Ahead of that though, here’s Gill Jones’ column in full.

A big welcome to everyone following the games this weekend.  As we approach the end of November, alongside the excitement of the weekend game, our thoughts and planning in the Foundation are turning to all the additional provision and activities being planned for December, and the lead up to Christmas.

On Thursday, Anthony Limbrick and Greg Draper were guests of honour at the official Christmas Light Switch On event in Oswestry, hosted by Oswestry Town Council – we were delighted to be invited to be part of the event.  This event kicks off the Christmas festivities in Oswestry and is shortly followed by a weekend of festivities on the weekend of 3rd December.

Following a break last year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Oswestry Christmas Parade (organised by Borderland Rotary Club) is back, and the Foundation and Football Club will be proud to enter a float in the parade to showcase our work.  Thanks go to Pentons Haulage, who are generously providing a lorry and trailer unit for us.

If you’re a parent of a child participating in the Football Club’s Academy or in our Foundation Fun Football and/or youth sessions, you will be hearing more about the Parade over the coming week, and we will be offering opportunities for your children to take part.  Do also come along and support the Parade which takes place on Saturday 4th December and give us a cheer!

We’re delighted to announce that we have been successful in our proposals to be a Core Provider of Shropshire Council’s Winter Holiday Activities and Food Programme.  Please look out for further information over the coming weeks – places will be limited, and registrations are essential, so please put the dates in your diary.  We will be offering the following provision:

Monday 20th December – Woodside Primary School 9.30am to 1.30pm; Gobowen Church Hall 1pm to 5pm

Tuesday 21st December – Woodside Primary School 9.30am to 1.30pm; St Martins Centre 1pm to 5pm

Wednesday 22nd December – Woodside Primary School 9.30am to 1.30pm; Weston Rhyn Institute 9.30am to 1.30pm; Ellesmere Primary School 1pm to 5pm; The Centre, Oswestry Youth Event 4pm to 8pm

Thursday 23rd December – Woodside Primary School 9.30am to 1.30pm; Ellesmere Primary School 1pm to 5pm; Park Hall Stadium 1pm to 5pm

We are very pleased also to be working in partnership with local food charity OsNosh and with Qube Arts to offer this exciting programme of children and young people’s activities – it will certainly keep our team busy in the weeks leading up to Christmas!!

Finally, another date for your diaries – on Saturday 18th December we will be relaunching our Junior Supporters package.  We’d love to welcome your family to this event, and will be releasing further information very shortly.

There’s so much more to tell you – please do follow us on social media, as we endeavour to keep you up to date on our various activities.  In the meantime, enjoy the game, and do contact us on info@tnsfcfoundation.org.uk if you’d like to find out more.
