Fortress Park Hall

The 6-0 victory against Haverfordwest County was the thirteenth this season (in all games) that The New Saints has recorded at home. The 100% record  has been an important ingredient in the success so far.

It certainly is a case of fortress Park Hall at the moment and long may that continue.

 

Three Goals In Seven Minutes

The Bluebirds came with a game plan and that worked until the 29th minute. The opener, from Ryan Brobbel, was followed by a Declan McManus brace, that effectively put the game beyond the visitors.

Like the proverbial bus, you wait a while for one and then a number of them turn up together. In this case, three goals in seven minutes.

 

The Statistics Look Good

A look at the JD Cymru Premier table makes happy viewing for fans of The New Saints.

Ten wins and two draws from twelve games, the leading goalscorers and the tightest defence all bode very well indeed, as we push on into the final ten games of phase one.

The important statistics though are the ones that show seven, ten and fifteen point gaps ahead of the second, third and fourth placed sides respectively.

 

Declan McManus

We make no apologies for mentioning the striker in another Five Talking Points feature. After all, he scored a hat-trick.

His twelve for the season so far means that he is now leading the way at the top of the individual goal scoring charts.

Danny Redmond

The other three goals were scored by Ryan Brobbel, Dean Ebbe and Danny Redmond and it was the latter that we chose for our post-match player interview.

The scorer of the fourth goal, what a strike it was as the midfielder blasted home from outside the penalty area.

Always Mr. Consistency when on the pitch, Danny’s contribution has been a big part of where the club is at the moment.
