This coming Sunday (November 7), The New Saints FC Women host Barry Town United Ladies on Genero Adran Premier MD9.

Croeso and welcome to this afternoon’s game, Matchday 9 in the Genero Adran Premier League. We are delighted to welcome Barry Town United, and their new First Team Manager Joshua Anderson, to Park Hall for the first time.
There is no disguising the fact that our defeat away to Barry Town on Matchday 2 was a genuine wake up call to us all (if one were needed). Whilst results of that nature are always uncomfortable, facing up to the reality of our performance in the aftermath has most certainly helped this team to grow in so many ways.
That early season setback was September’s news, whereas October has been a very different story altogether as we found our footing. In total we played six games during the month, two in the FAW Women’s Cup where we were unfortunate to suffer a narrow defeat in Round 2 at the hands of Cardiff City, and four in the Genero Adran Premier League.
The four points we captured from those four league games is not, in my opinion, a fair reflection of our efforts. Following our first league points against Aberystwyth, we couldn’t then quite capitalise on our momentum away to Port Talbot; a solid performance and a wonder goal from Emily Ridge against the champions, Swansea City followed; then last time out our first point on the road duly arrived against Pontypridd, and whilst it was well deserved, a draw was unjust reward in the end.
As well as securing the added experience and quality of several new signings, we have also tidied up much of the detail within our game. Bringing a group together quickly is a big challenge, yet the hard work to secure greater cohesion and a purposeful style to our play is beginning to pay off. The players, of course, must take great credit for that.
So, as we enter November, we are in a good place emotionally. With your continued support, be assured that we will continue to strive to make you all proud.
Finally, a big shout out to the U19 Development Team for marking their debut. They won their opening Adran 19 North League fixture beating Northop Hall 4-1 before losing the second 1-0 against a strong Penrhyn Bay. Tim Turner and his coaching staff, Paul Samson, Ben Kamara and Collette Roberts are doing a fine job in setting the team on their way.
