For the second JD Cymru Premier fixture on the bounce, it’s a top-of-the-table affair for The New Saints. Following on from the 1-0 victory against Bala Town, it’s now Flint Town United who occupy second place in the league table.

The MD10 encounter at Essity Stadium, on Friday, October 22, is a big game for both sides. With the visitors leading the way by seven points at the top, the incentive is there to extend the gap even further.

It’s a much-improved season so far for Flint compared to last time round, where they finished in the relegation places, but didn’t go down due to Covid-19 restrictions meaning that only the top-flight played football.

They’re enjoying a good campaign in 2021/22 as they share the distinction, with The New Saints, of being the leading goalscorers in the league, with both finding the net twenty-one times each.

Currently in a position that would see them qualify for European competition, Neil Gibson’s side will be full of confidence going into the game.

The New Saints will be in the all-blue away kit, while the ‘keepers will be in red/blue shirts with red shorts and socks.

Flint Town United will be wearing their traditional black and white striped shirts, black shorts and black socks. The home goalkeepers will be in all-orange.

Iwan Griffith will be the referee, assisted by Gareth Jones and Andy Harms. Aaron Jones will be the fourth official and Paul Morgan the referee observer.
