This Thursday (July 29, 2021), Park Hall hosts European football for the second time this season as we welcome the Lithuanian top-flight side, KF Kauno Žalgiris, in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Following a 5-0 first leg victory last Tuesday in Marijampolė, The New Saints sits firmly in the driving seat in the second qualifying round game.

Off to a perfect start in the eighth minute, Leo Smith scored for his fifth European game on the bounce, as the visitors soaked up the early pressure to take the lead.

Three goals in quick succession (34, 38, 40) at the other end of the half, ensured that Anthony Limbrick was the happier of the two coaches, as the referee blew his whistle to halt the first period.

The goals, from Danny Davies (2) and Declan McManus were added to in the 87th minute, when fellow new signing, Jordan Williams, struck a superb shot from outside the penalty area that beat the ‘keeper.

Anthony Limbrick will answer questions on the return leg via his press conference, which will be held on Wednesday (July 28) afternoon.

The officials, from Greece, are as follows: Emmanouil Skoulas (referee), Konstantinos Nikolaidis and Andreas Meintanas. The fourth official is Athanasios Tzilos.

The game this Thursday has a 6.15 p.m. kick-off time and both streaming and ticket details will be posted on our social media platforms once the information is available.
