A Professional Performance

Both in the club and Sgorio post-match interviews, Anthony Limbrick began by calling it ‘a professional performance.’ As head coach, of course he wants a win, but above all it’s important to do it in the right way.

Barry Town United came with a game plan and they were extremely well-organised and hard to break down. There were no goals at the break but the patient, passing, probing football paid off in the second period.

Anthony Limbrick does have a strong squad at his disposal, and no doubt it’s often a question of who do you leave out, as opposed to who you include.

 

Another Clean Sheet

For the fourth game on the bounce, the defence registered a clean sheet. With seventeen goals conceded in thirty-one games that’s an impressive statistic, and not surprisingly, it’s the one that leads the way in the JD Cymru Premier.

 

The Title Goes To The Wire

However, for as good as both the goals for (82) and against (17) are concerned, nevertheless it’s points that count, and on that all-important figure it’s Connah’s Quay Nomads who have their noses in front.

We will know by next Saturday afternoon who will be lifting the JD Cymru Premier trophy this season. With two points separating the sides, the Nomads travel to Penybont, while The New Saints welcome Bala Town.

It’s going to the wire. Indeed.
