The JD Cymru Premier MD31 fixture this coming Saturday (May 8), will be the penultimate game of the season for both sides, as the 2020/21 campaign begins to draw to a conclusion.

We only have to go back to November 14, 2020, for the last time that Barry Town United visited Park Hall.

The 2-1 victory meant that Scott Ruscoe’s side maintained a five-point lead at the top of the table.

There were no goals in the first-half until the 39th minute, when Louis Robles broke the deadlock. A Leo Smith corner was headed back into the box by Blaine Hudson, where the number eighteen got the final touch.

The New Saints started the second period well, but it wasn’t until eighteen minutes to go that the second goal was added.

A good ball from Jon Routledge saw Robles turn provider this time, as New Zealand international, Greg Draper, smashed home to create a cushion.

However, just four minutes later it was game on, as the Linnets pulled one back. A Chris Hugh cross from the left was met by Nat Jarvis, who saw his touch go past Paul Harrison and into the back of the net.

The goal certainly raised the level of the Barry game but The New Saints hung on to secure all three points come the final whistle.
