The last six league encounters between Bala Town and The New Saints, at Maes Tegid, have ended with one win for the Lakesiders, two for the visitors, while three games have been drawn.
The last TNS victory on Bala territory was in April, 2019, when The New Saints won 7-0. Ryan Brobbel opened the scoring in the 9th minute, while Danny Redmond added a second just before the break.
Five second-half goals from Greg Draper (47, 86), Adrian Cieslewicz (67, 90) and Dean Ebbe (74) ensured that the three points were secured in style.
The next visit – four months later – was not a happy one though, as Bala Town registered a 3-1 win. Going into the half-time break 1-0 up – courtesy of Dean Ebbe – it was all one-way traffic as far as goals were concerned in the second period.
Sandwiched between a brace from Chris Venables, Louis Robles, who is now at Park Hall, also found the net.
The following games, which bring us up to date, both ended 1-1. The February, 2020, fixture saw an early Aeron Edwards own goal cancelled by a 58th minute Ryan Brobbel penalty.
Nine months on, Ben Clark’s opener, with seventy-one on the clock, was negated just five minutes later, and that’s how the first game of the 2020/21 season ended.
