The Good Run Continues
Following on from the 5-0 victory against Cefn Druids, the 6-0 win at Flint Town United means that in the last two games, the side has scored eleven goals and conceded none.
Overall, with 61 goals so far this season, that’s 15 more than Bala Town who are the second leading goalscorers. The goals conceded is level with Connah’s Quay Nomads, who also have the impressive figure of 12 to their name.
Goals Spread Across The Team
With five different names on the scoresheet (Robles (2), Astles, Brobbel, Cieslewicz and Clark, it makes the team extremely difficult to play against. If you’re the opposing manager, who do you identify as the main threat on goal?
Likewise, in the previous game’s 5-0 win, there were four individuals who found the back of the net. When you combine the two games, eight different players scored.
Clean Sheets
It was anything but unlucky for Paul Harrison, as he kept his 13th JD Cymru Premier clean sheet of the season.
While the focus is usually on the ones who score the goals, let’s not forget the sterling work at the back, not just from the ‘keeper but also the players in front of him.
Adrian Cieslewicz
Since signing in the summer of 2014, the winger has been consistent in his performances, assists and goals. In fact, last week he registered his 150th league start, in the game against Cefn Druids.
This time round, his goal at Cae-y-Castell was his 50th in the league. With a return of one goal in every three games, for a wide-man, that’s impressive.
Let’s not forget the assists either, as he contributed directly to the first three goals on Saturday just gone.
Ryan Brobbel
After a long journey back from injury, it was great to see Brobz on the bench for the game. It was even better to see him come on at the start of the second period.
The icing on the cake, however, came just six minutes later, when he found the back of the net.
You can debate and discuss individual performances and goals, but to see the dynamic Brobbel back on the pitch, will surely be up there in the ranking as far as most TNS fans are concerned.
