The 1-0 victory on Tuesday evening, against Connah’s Quay Nomads, means that The New Saints head to Park Avenue on Friday (October 16) as league leaders.

The three points saw TNS and the Nomads swap places at the top of the JD Cymru Premier, and with a two-point lead and a game in hand, the great start to the season continues.

After seven games played, The New Saints leads the way with maximum points, twenty-six goals scored and none conceded.

Our opponent on Friday, Aberystwyth Town, sits in seventh place with eight points from as many games. Although they have top-six ambitions of their own, the Seasiders’ current form, however, is one win and three defeats in their last four games.

With fourteen in the goals scored column, they are the fourth in the league regarding that statistic, although they have conceded one more. However, only three other teams can better their minus-one goal difference.

The New Saints has a good track record at Park Avenue, as the last six visits produced five wins (4-0, 4-0, 5-1, 2-1, 10-1) with the sole defeat coming in the 2018/2019 season (1-0).

The officials for the game are as follows: Nick Pratt (referee), Lewiss Edwards and Connor Thomas (assistant referees) with Alex Livesey the fourth official.

TNS FC will be wearing blue/white/white and the ‘keepers will be in all-yellow.
