The perfect antidote

After the 3-1 reversal at Maes Tegid just three days before, the emphatic victory at Park Avenue was an excellent way to bounce back. If you follow TNS’ results then what usually happens is that a defeat is followed by a convincing win. It’s all about response.

Captain Fantastic, Paul Harrison

It could have been a different story, however, as although we were 1-0 up at the time, Paul Harrison pulled off three incredible saves to deny Aberystwyth Town. It’s all opinion, of course, but if we ask the question, “Is there a better keeper in the Welsh system?”, then surely it must be a rhetorical one?

Adam Hughes

On as a substitute in the second half, he marked his first competitive appearance in a TNS shirt with a wonderfully executed goal. Finding the net in the dying embers of the game, the goal wrapped up the scoring for the day, as his perfectly-placed shot gave the keeper no chance.

Greg Draper

After two games without a goal, the current JD Cymru Premier’s Golden Boot is off the mark with a brace to his name. One of seven individuals on the score sheet, Draper will be looking to push on and make it a hat-trick of consecutive awards as the league’s leading scorer.

Billy Whitehouse

On from the start, Whitehouse showed what he is capable of with not just an excellent performance but also a hat-trick to his name. The third goal was a penalty, after Blaine Hudson was fouled just inside the area. With the score 5-1 at the time, Ryan Brobbel stepped aside as Whitehouse converted into the bottom right corner.
