For the third season on the bounce, The New Saints FC played Scottish giants, Rangers, at the Hummel Training Ground, in a behind-closed-doors friendly. Although FA Wales rules prevent us from revealing the scoreline due to the game being closed to the public, nevertheless we can report that Scott Ruscoe’s team performed well against an experienced Rangers side.
The starting XI of Harrison, Redmond, Marriott, Davies, Lewis, Brobbel, Edwards, Routledge, Cieslewicz, Mullan and Draper remained intact for the first half.
The second period saw the introduction of a trialist for Lewis, with Byrne, Hughes, Whitehouse, Nembhard, Hmami and Clark all coming on at various points for Edwards, Draper, Cieslewicz, Redmond, Marriott and Davie respectively.
Following the final whistle, we interviewed Scott Ruscoe, as he shared his thoughts on the game.
