Last week proved to be yet another success, after the fantastic achievement on the previous Sunday reaching the FAW Youth Cup Final, writes Steve Benyon.
On Wednesday, 14 Performance Phase players travelled to Strachan College and recorded a 1-0 victory to reach the last 8 of the ECFA Category 1 Nationals, following a goal from Josh Bailey. We will now face Bishop Burton this coming Wednesday (March 20) in the last 8, for a place in the top 4 providers in the United Kingdom.
On Sunday, 14 players including 5 promoted from the Academy Under-16’s travelled away to Bangor City in the FAW Welsh Premier Development League (North).
The players did magnificent, playing some fantastic football, with none of the 16’s looking out of place. Will Nevitt assisted all 3 of the goals, with Harvey Edwards and Regan Jones also getting on the score sheet to see us run out comprehensive 3-1 winners, following a wonder strike from Alex Brownhill.
A special mention to full-backs Ryan Dacey and Ryan Morgan, who also slotted in extremely well and coped well with Bangor’s pacey and more experienced wingers.
This week will see us prepare for Bishop on Wednesday, as well as Kidderminster on Friday, followed by a free weekend for the players.
TNS FC's Performance Phase (Category 1) is on the road at Strachan College today, with a 2.00 p.m. kick-off time.
