LATEST NEWS

Yesterday (February 13, 2018) saw the players come up against Haberdashers’ Adams in the Shropshire Under 18s County Cup semi-final, writes Steve Benyon.

A number of changes were made to provide players with vital game time, as well as an opportunity for myself and Simon (Smith) to have a look at players in preparation for the upcoming U19s fixtures and various cup games.

The players recovered well from a shaky start after conceding an early goal and went 3-1 up, through goals from Owen Williams, Oli Mitchell-Gough and Ismail Ozdemir, and held on until the half-time whistle, after the opposition scored another one just before the break.

The second-half saw the introduction of four players, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. A further four goals were added to the tally from Luis Edwards, Harley Steel and two from James Rutter, including a Cantona-type chip into the top left-hand corner, to see us win the game 7-2 and into yet another final, this time against Shrewsbury School.

Next up for the players is a home game against Newtown AFC in the FAW Welsh Premier Development League (North) on Sunday, February 17th, with a 2.00 p.m. kick-off.

Also a huge good luck to Harry Bower, who flies out to Italy on Sunday to represent England Colleges in an international tournament for the week.

Congratulations To Our Performance Phase, Into Another Cup Final
