With no game for the reigning JD Welsh Premier League champions last week, due to the pitch conditions at Maes Tegid, it’s back to business this Friday (February 8) as we welcome Newtown AFC to Park Hall.

The Robins entertained Connah’s Quay Nomads on Saturday just gone, and were 1-0 up at the break courtesy of a goal from new signing, Porya Ahmadi. However, the visitors hit back in the second period and took all three points, with Danny Harrison and Mike Wilde giving them a 2-1 victory.

Going into MD24, although The New Saints sit in third place, following Barry Town United’s 2-0 defeat at Caernarfon Town, the game in hand means that if TNS picked up the points, then Scott Ruscoe’s side would be at the top of the pile.

Newtown are in fifth place, ten points behind the Saints and twelve off the current leaders, Connah’s Quay Nomads. Their goal difference of plus 8 is the third best in the league, equalling Caernarfon Town’s, but is some way off the Nomads (37) and TNS FC (51).

The New Saints will be in the familiar green and white/white/white, while the goalkeeper will wear black and blue/ black/ black.
