We don’t have to go back very far in time for this one. In fact, just a couple of weeks and October 17 2018 to be precise, when the Seasiders visited Park Hall in the JD Welsh Premier League (JD WPL).

Trailing Connah’s Quay Nomads by five points going into the game, The New Saints made it three wins on the bounce and closed the gap to two points come the final whistle.

The victory was emphatic, as for the third time this season the side scored six goals at home in the JD WPL. Following on from the 6-0 victories against Aberystwyth Town and Carmarthen Town, the clean sheet sequence was broken this time as the visitors found the net themselves.

The 6-1 scoreline saw double hat-tricks, as both Ryan Brobbel and Greg Draper shared the goals equally between themselves.

Three days later, the reigning JD WPL champions were back in action again at Park Hall with Andy Morrison’s Connah’s Quay Nomads the visitors. Another convincing victory saw the sides swap places at the top of the table but that’s for another feature in the not too distant future.
