On Wednesday January 25th, 13 of The New Saints / North Shropshire College Professional Phase players faced Shrewsbury Colleges at home in the County Cup quarter final.
The first half proved to be frustrating with the players making uncharacteristic mistakes, with the score at the break being 0-0.
However, after a few changes, the boys came out much sharper and scored five well-worked goals – Bower (4) and a great strike through Curtis Weetman – to end the game 5-0 winners and a place in the semi-finals against Adams Grammar.
The training topic this week is beating the block, with Caernarfon Town away on Sunday the next game.
The home squad played Heart of Worcestershire in a top of the table clash, and unfortunately came away empty-handed, following a 3-2 defeat. Both goals came from Harley Steel.
Their training focuses on preparation for the Flint Town United game on Sunday in the JD Welsh Development League. We will also be completing mid-season player reviews.
