Former TNS Assistant, Gary Brabin has been appointed as the new manager of Conference side Southport.

In June 2007, the Liverpool born Brabin joined The New Saints as an assistant to Ken McKenna before leaving to take charge of Southport.

His first spell on Merseyside ended with the former Chester City man leaving to join Cambridge United.

Former midfielder Brabin, who played for Southport in 2006, was last a manager at Luton but was dismissed in April 2012 following a poor run of form.

The New Saints would like to wish Gary the best of luck in his new job.
