Steve Monk was delighted with his team

Steve Monk took charge of his first ever game at Park Hall last night and guided his new TNS under 14’s squad to a comfortable 7-1

victory against Malpas Juniors.

The match was the first chance for the recently recruited coach to have a good look at his team, which was made up of players that were re-signing for the club as well as trialists hoping to join the Welsh Champions.

Despite Malpas taking the lead, TNS played brilliantly and ended the first half leading 4-1 after a superb hat-trick from Ricky Williams.

The young Saints side kept on pushing forward after the break and added another three goals to ensure a comfortable and dominant 7-1 victory.

Steve Monk who joined The New Saints from Cefn Druids was delighted with the performance, ‘It was a strong performance tonight and we fully deserved the win. The lads will be playing again in two weeks, as we look to build on tonight’s performance.’
