The New Saints FC Women moved off the bottom of the Genero Adran Premier after a brilliant 2-0 victory against Port Talbot Town Ladies. 

Caitlin Chapman and Lexie Harrison scored in the first-half, after Harrison had missed a penalty at 0-0 earlier in the game. 

The three points see the Oswestry-based side move into seventh, a point above Barry Town United Ladies, and two points behind Port Talbot Town Ladies. 

In the opening minutes, Lia Lewis had a shot from outside the 18-yard area that forced Emily Roberts into a catch. 

Nine minutes in, Georgia Griffiths had an effort from just beyond the box which Roberts just about picked up. 

Three later, Lia Lewis had another chance from outside the penalty that just drifted wide of goal. 

Griffiths had a second chance of the game in the 21st minute, a chance from the edge of the box which forced Roberts to make a stop. 

Three minutes after, Emily Ridge had an opportunity from 25-yards out which forced Roberts to tip the ball over the crossbar. 

In the 26th minute, Lexie Harrison was brought down by Chelsey Harris. Referee, Cheryl Foster, had no choice but to point to the spot. Harrison then stepped up and took the penalty,  but it was saved by Roberts. 

A minute on, Georgia Griffiths had an opportunity from inside the box which forced to Roberts to save to her bottom-left. 

The New Saints took the lead in the 35th, as Griffiths played a through ball that found Caitlin Chapman who slotted it past Roberts’ bottom left. 

A couple later Chapman was almost in again. Beth Lewis played a great cross that found the Northern Irish player who headed just wide of the net. 

Port Talbot had their first chance of the game in the 42nd minute, Freya Davies had an effort that Sarah Parkes collected easily. 

A minute on The Saints a 2-0 lead, Ridge played an excellent pass to Harrison who took the ball around Roberts and chipped it over the keeper. 

At the start of the second forty-five, Lucie Platt ran in on goal and forced Roberts to make a great save to her bottom-left. 

In the 50th minute, Chapman crossed the ball in the box to captain Beth Lewis who headed just wide of the post. 

Four on, Beth Lewis had a cross that nearly went in the back of the goal; however it found the side netting. 

Just before the hour mark, Chapman played a great through ball to Platt who forced Roberts into the save. 

In the 62nd minute, Vicky Beddows hit the ball from 30-yards out for the away side as Parkes collected easily. 

Two on, Lexi Harrison denied Beddows of a goal-scoring opportunity with a fantastic tackle in the TNS box. 

With ten minutes to go, Ridge had an effort from 25-yards out that just went away from the goal. 

Two after, Jess Denscombe had a shot in the box that blasted over the TNS goal. 

Late on in the encounter, Coryn Sexton had a wild effort that went off target. 

In stoppage time Harrison made a brilliant run and passed the ball to Chapman who shot just wide of the post. 

TNS will now face Swansea City Ladies away next week.
