The New Saints FC Women fell to a 3-1 loss against Barry Town United Ladies at Park Hall Stadium in the Genero Adran Premier.

Barry Town’s goals came from Manon Pearce, Mackenzie Olden and Substitute, Sian Rees.

The New Saints’ consolation came from the spot in the second half by Lexie Harrison.

In the league standings, the result means that The Saints go back to the bottom of the table.

The first chance in the game came in the 13^th minute. Tia Lockley had a shot from just inside the box after seeing Chelsea Herbert off her line. Lockley’s opportunity found its way past Herbert, but the Barry Town captain, Lauren Harris was there to clear the ball away.

In the 18^th minute Barry took the lead, a ball got crossed in the box that found Manon Pearce who slotted the chance past Sarah Parkes for the away side.

24 minutes in, Emily Ridge had a great effort from 20-yards out that just went wide of the Linnets’ post.

Four minutes on, Lexi Harrison took a free kick that nearly found the back of the net as Herbert collected.

A minute on, Helen Evans had a shot from just outside the box which forced Herbert into a good save.

In the 33^rd minute, Grace O’Reilly ran in on goal for Barry, however the flag went up for offside.

Two saves in quick time soon after from Parkes denied Taite Trivett and then Mackenzie Olden.

Just before half-time, Olden ran in on goal as she tried to get on to a through ball but Parkes got their just before to stop any chance from happening.

Deep into first-half stoppage time, Harrison ran in the 18-yard area from a corner and ultimately forced Herbert in the Barry net to deny a thrilling shot on goal.

In the 54^th minute at the start of the second forty-five, Faye Marshall was brought down in the box as the referee pointed to the spot. In the following minute, Harrison stepped up and slotted it past Herbert’s left.

In the 67^th minute, Sarah Parkes made a fantastic double save in the TNS box to stop Taite Trivett.

With just over 15 minutes to, Barry took the lead once more. Olden got on the end of a through ball and pounced on a mistake from the TNS backline and scored into an empty net.

In the 79^th minute, Barry got a third. Sian Rees hit a shot from outside the penalty area that found its way past Parkes’ bottom left.

Five minutes later, a header in the box from Megan Bowen just went wide of the post for the South Wales team.

Late on in normal time, Olden had another chance for Barry from outside the box which went wide of Parkes’ goal.

Andy Williams’ team will now travel to the Cardiff International Sports Stadium next week to face Cardiff City Women.
