It was a bright end to phase one for The New Saints, as Craig Harrison’s side defeated Colwyn Bay 1-0 at Park Hall Stadium.

Jordan Williams scored the only goal of the match in the second minute, netting his 21st goal of the 2025/26 JD Cymru Premier campaign.

Tuesday night’s result means the Saints move six points clear of second-placed Connah’s Quay Nomads as they head into the Championship Conference.

The New Saints made a fast start and took the lead almost immediately. In the second minute, Jordan Marshall delivered a cross into the box which found the league’s current top scorer, Jordan Williams, who finished past Rhys Williams and into the centre of the net.

The Saints continued to threaten in the 13th minute when new signing Eoin Farrell put a cross into the box that was palmed away to safety by Rhys Williams.

TNS went close to doubling their advantage before the half-hour mark, as Farrell saw a close-range header from a rebound cleared off the line by the Bay defence.

The reigning 17-time JD Cymru Premier champions continued to dominate in the 33rd minute. A Josh Daniels cross found Ryan Brobbel just outside the box, but his effort went inches wide.

Michael Wilde’s side had their first chance eight minutes before the break, as Aaron Williams headed from close range, but the effort went wide of the target.

The Saints continued their attacking dominance at the start of the second half, with Jordan Williams seeing a close-range effort dealt with by Rhys Williams.

Just after the hour mark, Marshall delivered another cross, this time finding Dan Williams, whose effort went off target.

Another opportunity followed moments later in the 63rd minute, as former Liverpool midfielder Dominic Corness fired an effort from 20 yards, but it too failed to trouble the goal.

The visitors threatened an equaliser in the 71st minute when Jordan Davies latched onto a through ball and fired towards the near post from a tight angle, but Nathan Shepperd produced an excellent point-blank save to deny Colwyn Bay.

That proved to be the final action of the contest, with The New Saints’ JD Cymru Premier Championship Conference fixtures set to be released in due course.
