Victory For The New Saints In Today’s Mid-Season Friendly

The New Saints ran out 3-0 winners against Airbus UK Broughton in a mid-season friendly at Park Hall this afternoon.

Goals were scored by Leo Smith, who broke the deadlock in the 45th minute, and Jake Canavan, who extended the lead further with a second-half brace, finding the back of the net in minutes 53 and 69.

With no competitive fixture scheduled this weekend, it was a useful exercise for Anthony Limbrick’s side, as it provided the opportunity for players to get valuable minutes under their belts ahead of next week’s JD Cymru Premier fixture against Cefn Druids.

It also gave the coaching staff the chance to take a look at a number of Academy players who were involved in both the starting line-up and off the bench.

The Saints are back in action in that aforementioned game against the Ancients next Friday (February 11), when they make the short journey to The Rock.
