The New Saints Women secured a first Welsh domestic title with a 3-1 win over Swansea City in the 2025 Genero Adran Trophy final at Latham Park.

Chantelle Teare, Caitlin Chapman, and an own goal from Swansea gave The New Saints a 3-0 lead at the break.

Stacey John-Davis got a goal back for the Swans in the second 45, but it wasn’t to make a difference as The New Saints won the Adran Trophy.

It was a quick start for The New Saints Women, as in the second minute, a misplaced pass from Swansea City across the box fell to Chantelle Teare, who netted from close-range past Charlotte Haynes and into the net tov give Shauna Duffy’s team a 1-0 lead.

Swansea had their first chance of the match not too long later. Katy Hosford crossed a ball into the box and found Nia Jones, who headed wide.

The New Saints took a two-goal lead in the 19th minute, when Lexi Jones netted an excellent strike from 20-yards away that went into Haynes’ right of the net.

Unbelievably, it was 3-0 before the half-hour, as Maria Francis-Jones whipped a fantastic ball that was put into the net at the back post by Swansea’s Lauren Davis.

Duffy’s side were not far off a fourth in the 32nd minute, with a Helen Evans shot from outside the box palmed away by Haynes.

Before half-time, Stacey John-Davis whipped a ball into the box for the Swans that found Hosford, who had a header that deflected wide of the net.

Not long into the second 45, John-Davis put in another cross that this time found substitute, Emily Richards, and the number 15 managed to have a header on target, but was denied by a good Becca Elliott save.

Jamie Sherwood’s team did get a goal back in the 56th minute, when a kick from Elliott was headed back at goal by John-Davis, with the ball narrowly going over the line.

The Saints almost hit back moments on, as Jones played a through ball to Olivia Buckland, who shot inside the box, however Haynes rushed to the ball quickly to make a fine save.

In the 72nd minute, Saints continued to attack, when a corner from Francis-Jones found Teare, but the 23-year-old headed over the crossbar.

Not long later, John-Davis ran through on goal up the other end of the pitch for Swans, and looked good to get another back. Elliott had other ideas this time, with the keeper standing firm and stopping the danger.

Deep into added-on-time, Robyn Pinder had one last opportunity for the six-time Genero Adran Premier champions from a few yards away that deflected over the crossbar.

That was to be the end of the action, as TNS won the Adran Trophy.

Duffy’s team are back in action against Briton Ferry Llansawel in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup quarter-finals on Sunday, February 16th.
