The New Saints FC Women suffered a 3-1 loss at Llandarcy Academy Of Sport against the league leaders Swansea City Ladies.

Stacey John-Davis netted in the first minute of the game before Lucie Platt equalised over ten minutes after.

Katy Hosford and Laura Davies found the back of the net later on in the half which ultimately gave Chris Church’s team the three points.

In the first minute of the game, a Chloe Chivers through ball found Stacey John-Davis in the box who chipped Sarah Parkes to give Swans the lead.

Nine into the encounter, Chivers had a shot from outside the 18-yard area that went over the crossbar.

The New Saints equalised in the 14th minute, Caitlin Chapman ran the ball down the right wing and passed the ball in the centre to Lucie Platt who slotted home to level.

Over ten minutes later, Chivers had a shot from outside the penalty area that Parkes collected.

Moments after, Hosford hit the ball from outside the 18-yard area as the attempt deflected in the goal as Swans retook the lead.

In the 40th minute the match was 3-1. Chivers put in a ball from 25-yards that found Laura Davies in the box who headed into the back of the net.

At the start of the second forty-five, Chivers had a chance an opportunity in the 18-yard area which Parkes stopped.

In the 53rd minute, Shaunna Jenkins hit the ball for Swans in the box as it blasted over the crossbar.

Before the hour mark, Sarah Parkes made a fantastic stop to deny Hosford in the penalty area.

In the 63rd, Chapman had a free-kick from 20-yards out for The Saints, but Claire Skinner caught the ball.

Four on, Parkes pulled off another fine save as she stopped an outside the box  John-Davis chance.

At the end of the encounter, John-Davis got on the end of a cross as the winger headed wide of the net.

Andy Williams’ team will next be in action against Connah’s Quay Nomads at Park Hall Stadium in the Genero Adran League Cup on Sunday (December 19).
