The New Saints return to winning ways with a 4-0 victory over Caernarfon Town

The New Saints made a return to winning ways as they defeated Caernarfon Town 4-0 at the Go Goodwins Stadium.

Two quick-fire first-half strikes from Dan Williams and Ben Clark put Craig Harrison’s side in control at the break, and it was a position they didn’t let slip.

Jordan Williams made it 3-0 seven minutes from time with his 26th goal of the season, before substitute Dan Barton scored his first for the club to add the TNS fourth.

It was a good start by the champions, and it took them just 11 minutes to make the breakthrough in Llandudno.

Receiving the ball from Jordan Marshall inside the penalty area, Dan Williams sent a powerful first-time effort past Hari Thomas at his near post to make the score 1-0.

The JD Cymru Premier champions wasted no time in doubling their advantage either.

Just 60 seconds later, Ben Clark was the beneficiary when Kyle Harrison’s header dropped kindly inside the six-yard box, and the Academy graduate made no mistake with his left-footed effort.

Richard Davies’ side had an opportunity to get back into the match with 28 minutes on the clock following a foul by Godsmark-Ford on the edge of the penalty area.

Danny Gosset stepped up to take it, but sent the resulting effort narrowly wide of the returning Nathan Shepperd’s right-hand post.

Clark was in again in the 34th minute, but after getting on the end of Dan Williams’ inviting ball from the right, failed to hit the target on that occasion.

The Saints took their two-goal advantage into the half-time break, and head coach Harrison would’ve been pleased with his side’s first-half performance.

The champions picked up where they left off following the restart, and in the 51st minute, Thomas pulled off a smart diving save to keep out a powerful driven strike from Jordan Williams.

Down the other end, Shepperd was called into action for the first time in the second half, but the former QPR man was equal to a deflected effort from Phil Mooney.

In the 67th minute, there was a significant moment for midfielder Leo Smith, as the former Caernarfon man was introduced against his former side for a first appearance since suffering an ACL injury back in July.

The Wales C international was involved almost immediately too, sending a powerful strike over the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area.

If the points weren’t already secured, Jordan Williams made the result certain in the 83rd minute with his 26th goal of the season.

After Dan Barton dispossessed Harrison inside the penalty area, the former Stockport County man pounced on the loose ball and fired home into the empty net after dummying the ‘keeper.

The scoring wasn’t done there though. In the 88th minute, Barton raced onto Brobbel’s forward pass to poke the ball beyond Thomas to make the score 4-0 and grab his first TNS goal.

The New Saints are back in action next weekend, as they play their final home fixture of the 2025/26 season against Connah’s Quay Nomads. That match is scheduled for 2:30pm on Friday, April 3rd, with the JD Cymru Premier trophy set to be presented once the action concludes.
