Following last night’s result at Leckwith Stadium, The New Saints Women will face Cardiff City away in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup quarter-finals.

The Bluebirds advanced to the last eight of the competition following a 14-0 win over tier three, Trefelin, on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, The New Saints also overcome tier three opposition in Cambrian United thanks to a 7-0 win at the M&P Group 3G (Sunday, December 21st, 2024).

The Saints and Cardiff played in the Adran Trophy last season in the quarter-finals where the Oswestry based-team came out on top 1-0 thanks to an Olivia Buckland goal (Sunday, December 8th 2024).

In the last meeting between the teams, it ended in a 3-3 at Leckwith Stadium in the Genero Adran Premier (Sunday, November 30th).

The Saints have reached a couple of Welsh Cup semi-finals, most recently last season, as the Genero Adran Trophy champions lost 1-0 to Cardiff at Park Avenue in Aberystwyth (March 16, 2025).

Meanwhile, Cardiff are the defending champions of the Welsh Cup.

Looking at the Adran Premier table, TNS are fourth on 17 points, while Iain Darbyshire’s side are fourth on 26 points.

All quarter-final ties will be played on Sunday, February 8th.
