Last Friday, Billy Kirkman and Ben Woollam both made the temporary switch from Park Hall to Aberystwyth Town’s Park Avenue.

Moving on loan until January, both players will have the opportunity to play regular first-team football at a competitive level, and will hope to impress Craig Harrison and The New Saints’ coaching team ahead of their return to Oswestry.

Kirkman of course, returns to the club he represented throughout a memorable second-half of the 2022/23 season. The young defender helped the Seasiders avoid relegation of the final day of the season following a 3-2 victory against Caernarfon Town.

Having spent the whole of last year on loan at Cymru North side, Guilsfield, Woollam now has the opportunity to test himself in the JD Cymru Premier week in, week out, and the FAW Youth Cup winner will look to continue his impressive form. 

The pair made their first appearances for their loan club on Saturday just gone, helping Anthony Williams’ side to a 2-1 victory against Barry Town United in the second round of the Nathaniel MG Cup.

Both players played the full 90 minutes at Jenner Park, and Kirkman certainly had an eventful introduction, scoring an 81st minute winner to help his side progress into the next round.

The draw for the third round of the Nathaniel MG Cup will take place at 8pm tonight and will be broadcast on RedWall+.

While they can’t be paired together at this stage due to regionalisation, both The New Saints and Aberystwyth Town await with interest their their round three opponents.
