The New Saints Women succumbed to their second defeat after a 7-2 loss to Barry Town United Ladies.

A Mackenzie Olden hat-trick and goals from Megan Bowen, Lauren Harris, Chelsea Cochrane, Manon Pearce was enough to seal the victory for the Linnets.

Andy Williams’ side’s goals came from Georgia Griffiths and substitute Faye Marshall.

The home side started the brighter of the teams as Lauren Harris crossed a ball into Megan Bowen from a corner with Bowen getting her head on the ball and found the net.

Barry Town United doubled their lead 21 minutes in. Harris scored a wonder goal from a free-kick that was 35-yards out with Sarah Martin not being able to get near the ball.

The Saints got a goal back before the break. A free kick was put into the box that the Barry keeper dropped with Georgia Griffiths pouncing on the opportunity and kicked the ball into an empty net.

Into the second-half, Chelsea Cochrane got a third goal for the Dragons. Cochrane had an attempt from just outside the 18-yard box that went past Martin, finding the bottom right corner.

On the hour mark, Olden made it 4-1 with the midfielder getting the ball in the box and slotted it past Martin’s left.

Substitute Faye Marshall got a goal back for TNS four minutes later. Marshall had an opportunity from outside the Barry penalty area that went over the top of the home side’s keeper and into the net that made the score 4-2.

With five minutes of normal time remaining, a defensive error at the back lead to Manon Pearce collecting the ball that she connected that went on target into the net.

Oden got a brace for Barry in the 89^th minute as the number seven went round Martin and slotted the ball into an empty net.

The final goal for Barry came deep into stoppage time. A ball got whipped in from Harris that Olden got on the end of and hit home to claim a hat-trick as the game ended 7-2.
