It’s JD Cymru Premier MD25 this Saturday (February 25), when we host Rhys Griffiths’ Penybont FC at Park Hall.
The game is a first versus third encounter, although the sides are separated by eighteen points in the table. In addition, The New Saints’ plus goal difference of 75 is significantly greater than that of Penybont’s 19.
However, recent form suggests that the game will be much closer than the table indicates. In the last seven matches between the teams, although The New Saints remain unbeaten (won four, drawn three), the victories have all been by the odd goal (1-0, 3-2, 2-1, 3-2).
Both were victorious in home fixtures last weekend, with Craig Harrison watching his side beat Newtown 1-0, while Penybont edged Cardiff Metropolitan University FC 2-1.
On Saturday, The New Saints will be wearing green and white hooped shirts, white shorts and socks. The goalkeepers will be in red and blue shirts, red shorts and socks.
The visitors will be in all-grey and the ‘keepers all-pink.
Iwan Griffith is the appointed referee and he will be assisted by Daniel Beckett and Jordan Christopher. The fourth official is Huw Jones and Mark Whitby the referee observer.
The kick-off time is 12.45 p.m. and the game is live on Sgorio’s social media platforms. In addition, there will be commentary on TNS Radio which you can listen to via our website and Facebook page.
