First hosts sixth on Saturday (November 5), when Cardiff Metropolitan University FC are the visitors to Park Hall on JD Cymru Premier MD14.

Although there are just four teams between them in the table, the points gap after twelve games, is sixteen.

Ryan Jenkins’ side is the highest-placed team with a minus goal difference (-7), which, taking into account The New Saints’ statistic means that there is a swing of thirty-nine.

However, come Saturday, the figures will no doubt count for nothing as recent games between the teams have testified.

Although there have been two big wins for The New Saints (7-0 and 5-0) since 2019/20, apart from a 2-0 win two season ago, the other results have either been draws or just one goal separating the clubs.

The 7-0 win, back in the middle of September this year – courtesy of an Adrian Cieslewicz hat-trick, a Declan McManus brace and goals from Ryan Brobbel and Jordan Williams – saw The New Saints extend the lead at the top of the JD Cymru Premier to four points.

Currently, that extension is now seven ahead of second (Connah’s Quay Nomads) and thirteen in front of third, fourth and fifth (Bala Town, Caernarfon Town and Penybont FC respectively).

The officials on Saturday are Thomas Owen (referee), Ashley Davis and Connor Thomas (assistant referees) and Huw Jones (fourth official). The referee observer is Edward King.

The New Saints will be in green and white hooped shirts, green shorts and white socks, with the goalkeepers in all-blue.

Cardiff Met will be wearing burgundy shirts, navy blue shorts and burgundy socks.
