Following the JD Cymru Premier victory at Park Avenue on Tuesday evening, it’s on the road again for The New Saints this Saturday (September 3), when we travel to south Wales to take on Pontypridd United.

The MD5 visit to University of South Wales (USW) Sport Park, is (at the time of writing) is a tenth v first encounter.

Formed in 1992 as Pontypridd Town, The Dragons were promoted to the top-flight of Welsh football from last season’s JD Cymru South.

This is their debut campaign at the top table and, with one win and three defeats, they currently sit just above the relegation trapdoor on goal difference.

The solitary victory (2-1) came against Aberystwyth Town on August 27 at USW Sport Park.

Pontypridd United will be wearing white shirts with black shorts and socks, while the ‘keepers will be in all-yellow.

The New Saints will be in the black/grey away kit and the goalkeepers in yellow and blue shirts, blue shorts and black socks.

James Walker is the appointed referee, assisted by Daniel Beckett and Lewiss Edwards. Ben Williams is the fourth official and Mark Whitby the referee observer.
